Living Your Best Life

I've been in church since nine months before I entered into the world. Same church, same people. I had always loved hearing the Bible stories in Sunday school and coloring the little characters. We were always taught that we would of course go to Hell if we died without Jesus in our hearts, but I never fully understood that until I was about 7 years old. It scared the devil out of me, literally. We had VBS that week, and a man named Rusty Edwards was preaching each night. I basically just went about my 7 year old business all week until Friday night. I remember on Friday, Brother Edwards told it like it was. In his conclusion he asked the congregation whether or not we'd be in heaven or hell when we died. God quickly let me know, Tatum you're lost, and if you died right now you'd wake up in Hell. As a young girl this scared me to the max. Who is stupid enough to want to burn in Hell, rather than accept the free gift of salvation?? So, I grabbed my Teacher, also k...

The Truth Behind the Smile

This blog is gonna be a little honest. I'm actually kind of afraid to type all I've been thinking and publish it because of the feedback it may receive, but here goes. Before I get started, be aware of the fact that I'm not seeking attention through this. I'm writing all of this to say to the girl who's so insecure, you're not the only one. Maybe some of you are saying "Tatum, insecure?". Trust me no one gets it because I seem "so happy". It's not just insecurity though, it's that feeling of never being good enough. Please take the time to read this if you feel that way. Even if you don't struggle with that problem, please still take the time to understand someone that does.       I haven't always been this way. I guess you could say it started with being told that the way I talk was funny. Seems small to you, right? Not to me. It didn't help that I was laughed at, but the people saying it didn't see that side of th...

Make-Up Favorites and Dupes

It's been so long since I've sat down and even tried to blog. I have had zero inspiration to write anything, and I also started college along with my high school. So, life has been BUSY! With that being said, I am gonna try my best to make time for blogging! It's something I love to do, and definitely love all the feedback from kind people. :)       In today's blog, I'm gonna be doing something a little different than my usual devotional type post. I have had so many people ask me to do my favorite beauty products and hair products and other things like that. SOOOO, today I will be sharing with y'all my favorite makeup products and dupes. I'll be honest...I'm not one who can bring myself to paying a ton of money for makeup, but I do love it! So, of course I'm the one walking around in Ulta for an hour trying to find the best dupe for a certain "expensive" product. Also, don't watch the YouTube videos...they will cause you to go broke ...

Dare To Be a Deborah

Hey Y'all! It's been a few weeks since I last blogged, and I am SO SORRY!! With the Holidays rolling around it's been pretty busy. These past few weeks I've been studying about a woman named Deborah from the book of Judges. Some may know who I'm talking about, and some may not. My Pastor has been going through the book of Judges on Wednesday nights, and I absolutely love it! A few weeks ago we got to the story of Deborah and Barak. I had already been thinking about doing a study on a woman in the Bible, and then God told me she was my woman! So, I read, studied, and researched, and now I'm gonna share with y'all what God gave me.      If you know anything about the book of Judges, you know it's all about Israel's  up and down life of serving the Lord. One day they wanted to do right, and the next they were right back to sinning. So, God raised up these Judges to lead them. In chapter 4, God raises up a woman Judge named Deborah. Just like always, I...

Praise Him With Your Whole Heart

So, this blog is probably gonna be a bit scattered just because this has been on my heart for the past couple of weeks, and I just couldn't find the words to say. But, after pondering on it for a while, and doing some research, I think I can finally sit down and write up a blog for y'all! On my phone I have the "Bible by Tecarta" app, and it notifies each morning with a daily Bible verse. A couple weeks back I woke up to Mark 7:20-23 , and God quickly laid it on my heart to read that whole chapter. So, I did, and wow. It's one of those moments where you know you've been praying for something, and God just finally shows you what to do, or how to fix it. Anyone else know how that feels? When I came to verse 6, I began to cry. It says: "He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrisies, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." I'd recently been praying for God to help...

How to Be Spiritually Minded in a World Where it Seems Impossible

I made a post on Instagram recently telling everyone I've been going through the books of Romans and Daniel. Digging deeper into both of them has been SO much fun, but today I want to focus on chapter 8 of Romans. First off I want to say it is NOT hard if you really want it. Having the mindset to serve Christ is so much easier when you really strive to do what's right in God's eyes. So, that being said, how do we stay spiritually minded in a World where it seems "IMPOSSIBLE"? I'm gonna give a list of some things that I KNOW (from experience) ruin our minds, and make us want to live in ways we shouldn't want to.  1. MUSIC      Boy, has this ruined me MANY times! It seems like music is that one HUGE problem most youth have. And yes, people call "my kind of people" crazy for our view on what music you should listen to, but it really does matter!! Take King Saul for example. 1 Samuel 16:23 says " And it came to pass, when the  evil  spirit ...

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Hey y'all!! Today I'll be sharing with you some reasons why I absolutely love my life. If you don't love your life, I'm gonna tell you just exactly how to change that. You've got some MAJOR problems if you don't, so let's talk about it.      What is life? The Bible says it's a vapour that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away (James 4:14). So, being that we don't have too much time on this earth, how should we spend it? So many people today say that true happiness is found by chasing your dreams. I'm sorry to "bust your bubble", but this is in NO WAY true. Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, and so many others chased after their dreams, and look where it got them. On the outside they seemed so happy, but in reality, they were missing something. They were missing the key to true happiness, JESUS! The world chases after happiness in all the wrong ways, searching for something to fill that great void inside. Many look t...
