My New Oily Lifestyle

Hey y'all! On today's blog I'll be sharing my personal experience with Essential Oils. I don't sale them, so no, this isn't a post to "win over customers"...I just want to tell y'all how they have personally worked for me!

Up until about 3 weeks ago, I've been living off of samples from Young Living. I had quite a few different oils collected that people let me try out. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something not knowing whether it would work or not, so I lived on samples for 6 months. Peppermint EASILY became my favorite! If I was stuffy, I'd cup my hands over my face and breathe deeply; If I had a headache, I would put some on my temples. Now, not all oils work the same for people, but that's how peppermint helps me! I also had lavender, and let me tell ya...I LOVE ME SOME LAVENDER!! I rubbed it on my pillow, diffused it, put it on topically etc...Lanta! Don't leave the house without lavender, y'all. It's not like this magical sleeping pill that knocks you out, haha! But, I guess it's more of the smell that just calms you and helps you sleep.

I got into the oils because I was interested in living a more natural lifestyle. Organic foods, plants, natural remedies etc...and that's where the oils came into play. I searched for the best oils out there and Young Living is what I found! I'm only 17, so it's a little difficult to go all out with the whole organic/natural lifestyle, but I make it work! I saved up for my starter kit, and I can honestly say I've never been more happy with any big purchase in my life!! Now that I've got all of that out of the way, I wanna share with y'all some of my most favorite ways to use them:

1. Lemon
My ALL TIME favorite way to use this is in my water. I have struggled with some awful Acid Reflux for about a year now. I don't like to take Tums because they're not good for you, so I would always just deal with it. Then I seen on Pinterest where Lemon Essential Oil helps with Acid Reflux! So, I gave it a try. I will more than likely never eat another tum!! I put 3 drops in a bottle of water (16 oz) and that lumpy feeling in my throat goes away within 15 minutes! If you are an essential oil user and you don't like the way Digize tastes like ME, give Lemon a try!!

Another way I love to use the Lemon is in my moisturizer. I should probably get a jar and measure it, but for now I put the amount of moisturizer I usually use on the cap and mix 1 drop of oil with it. It leaves my face feeling and LOOKING fresh!

2. Lavender
Like I said earlier, don't go anywhere without your lavender! I love to diffuse this every night, and I (of course) rub it on my pillow. It may seem like a weird combo, but I like to add a couple drops of frankincense in with it! I lay in bed facing my diffuser and take a few deep breaths in before sleeping. It gives me such a calm feeling.

Someone recently told me you could use lavender for bug bites, and it works miracles!! I tried it out the day I was told because where I'm from, the 'skeeters love the sweet ones ;) haha, kidding! Anyways, I took it to youth camp this past week and it was a life saver! Needless to say, I wasn't the only one using it. I've had my starter kit for 3 weeks and my bottle of lavender is almost gone!!! That's how awesome it is!

3. Peppermint
I also mentioned this oil earlier on, because it's one of the samples I had. My most favorite way to use peppermint oil is for a headache! I seem to get headaches a lot, so I'll either cup my hands and sniff, or put some on my temples. It depends on how bad my headache is! Also, as I mentioned earlier, NOT ALL OILS DO THE SAME THING FOR EVERYONE!!!

Another great way to use peppermint is when you're stuffy! I'll either cup my hands and breathe it in, or diffuse it. If you are about to go to sleep it's a good idea to diffuse it so it will help through out the night. I done this at our youth camp because it seemed like everyone was stuffy (Raven was another life saver at Summer Camp!) and it helped SO SO much!! I also added some Lemon and Raven in there with it! I feel like I'm just repeating myself, aha!! But, I cant brag enough on them!

4. Panaway
Okay...so I have had awful back pains for a LONG time now. I know most of y'all are going "you're 17, really?" YES! My lower back kills me, especially at night. I can't fall asleep unless I sleep on my tummy, I just can't help it! Panaway is my MIRACLE OIL!!!! I rub it on my lower back every night before bed and it gives you this "icy-hot" feeling. Nothing beats it! Within 15 minutes the pain eases away. It's also good for sore muscles after a long, hard workout!

While it works miracles on your back, it can kill some pimples too! I also seen this on Pinterest , so I tried it. Of course the first time I was stupid and didn't dilute it (because I usually don't), but I quickly learned my lesson!! It DOES NOT take it away "immediately", it just takes the swelling down. As you apply it though, it dries up and goes away! It's so amazing! I let one of my friends try it out last week, and she loved it!

A starter kit comes with 11 oils, but Young Living has so much more to offer! Visit their website and see for yourself: Young Living I don't personally sale them, but if you're interested, please message me and I will hook you up ;). I'm so glad I decided to start living life OILY!!

Dare To Be a Deborah

Hey Y'all! It's been a few weeks since I last blogged, and I am SO SORRY!! With the Holidays rolling around it's been pretty busy. These past few weeks I've been studying about a woman named Deborah from the book of Judges. Some may know who I'm talking about, and some may not. My Pastor has been going through the book of Judges on Wednesday nights, and I absolutely love it! A few weeks ago we got to the story of Deborah and Barak. I had already been thinking about doing a study on a woman in the Bible, and then God told me she was my woman! So, I read, studied, and researched, and now I'm gonna share with y'all what God gave me.      If you know anything about the book of Judges, you know it's all about Israel's  up and down life of serving the Lord. One day they wanted to do right, and the next they were right back to sinning. So, God raised up these Judges to lead them. In chapter 4, God raises up a woman Judge named Deborah. Just like always, I...

A Worship that Pleases God

Ask yourself: Do I spend time worshiping enough? Is my life truly pleasing the Lord? How do I know I really love the Lord with all that is in me? On today's blog I am gonna share with y'all what God has shown me recently. I just love when God works in my life, but, in order to continue living for him how I should, it's gonna take a great deal more than just rushing through my morning chapter, and a quick prayer everyday. I hope, with Gods help, that I can be a help with y'all in this area!      The first question I said to ask yourself was: Do I spend time worshiping enough? Worship is certainly not meant JUST for church! We should worship God in our everyday lives. If you only worship the Lord on Sundays and Wednesdays, that's your first problem. To keep that good relationship and fellowship with God, you need to maintain a worshiping lifestyle. I heard someone say, It's so much easier to live a christian life if you get saved! This could be true in your life...

Praise Him With Your Whole Heart

So, this blog is probably gonna be a bit scattered just because this has been on my heart for the past couple of weeks, and I just couldn't find the words to say. But, after pondering on it for a while, and doing some research, I think I can finally sit down and write up a blog for y'all! On my phone I have the "Bible by Tecarta" app, and it notifies each morning with a daily Bible verse. A couple weeks back I woke up to Mark 7:20-23 , and God quickly laid it on my heart to read that whole chapter. So, I did, and wow. It's one of those moments where you know you've been praying for something, and God just finally shows you what to do, or how to fix it. Anyone else know how that feels? When I came to verse 6, I began to cry. It says: "He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrisies, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." I'd recently been praying for God to help...
